2017 APWA Silicon Valley Chapter Project of the Year Award

By F&H Contributor |

F&H Construction is proud to have been part of a team that received the 2017 APWA Silicon Valley Chapter Project of the Year Award for Project in the Structures – $2 to $25 million Category for the Morgan Hill Downtown Parking Structure.

The Project Morgan Hill Downtown Parking Structure consists of a 273 stall parking structure, which includes a 4,000 square feet retail and commercial space to serve businesses in downtown Morgan Hill and commuters using the nearby Cal-Train Station. The project is approximately 100,000 square feet and has 3 levels. A Poppy Jaspers inspired glass panel wall wraps around one corner of the building near the pedestrian entrance. At the vehicle entrance a large tarantula that measures 16 feet in diameter and is covered in motorcycle headlamps that light up at night, created by world renown artist Gordon Huether who is based out of Napa, hangs on a 40′ shear wall. The tarantula was designed as an opportunity to draw more people to downtown Morgan Hill and also to create a sense of culture that the community can appreciate.

The attached project summary was prepared and submitted by Harris & Associates, Construction Management.
