F&H Construction ,
one of the leading builders of water and wastewater storage and
treatment facilities in California and Hawaii, has been selected
by the City of Redding as the builder of the Clear Creek Waste
Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation and Expansion Project.
Construction under a $15.8 million contract will soon begin,
adding to the building company’s expanding portfolio of public
works projects. The work generally involves repairing,
rehabilitating and/or replacing existing equipment, enhancing
bio-solids treatment and disposal, and improving odor control
measures at the plant. This filtration expansion effort is just
one in an $80 million, seven-phase upgrade at the Clear Creek
plant, which handles three quarters of Redding's sewage.
Stephen Seibly is F&H Construction’s lead
estimator for the project. “We are pleased the City of Redding
selected F&H Construction. We know this plant will serve a
vital functional role for the City, as it will provide a much
needed boost to the existing filtration capacity,” said Mr.
Seibly following the City Council’s unanimous vote to award the
contract to the Stockton-based company.
Scheduled for completion in 2012, the major rehabilitation and
expansion project will provide the City of Redding with a modern
wastewater treatment facility able to meet expected demands up
to the year 2025. It is anticipated that treatment capacity at
the plant will ultimately be increased to 151,500m³/day – more
than doubling the current maximum peak flow – and energy
efficiency will be improved. |
